Perfect Sense

Well pretty much indeed. It is time for a British movie! Why I choose Perfect Sense? Because it surprised me. The Idea is not really new. A mysterious virus threatens humanity. Like a wildfire is spreads all over the planet while at the same time a chef and a scientist (that incidentally works with the disease) fall in love.
It is no wonder so many guys fall for Eva Green (even Johnny Depp?). She is beautiful and mysterious. And Ewan McGregor, well actually I didn’t really have him penciled when thinking about great actors, but wow! He is really good.
Compared to a classical epidemic-movie like Contagion it is not about the helpless feeling when you lose your loved ones and the desperate fight for survival. It is more about the weird feeling when realizing how much we take for granted in our lives and how fragile a young love can be. If you take live as an aggregation of circumstances you probably never ask yourself what would be different in your life when just tiny things would have changed, but this movie makes you rethink your live path definitely!

Just by asking one simple question: how much would it change if you lose one of your senses? In Perfect Sense it starts with the sense of smelling. At first maybe you think it wouldn’t change anything… but if you keep on thinking you will realize that you are wrong!! Especially with the example of a young love in mind smell is so important. Just remember this smell of your youth and childhood, which always gives you this warm feeling of home. Or when you wake up and smell the pillow of your beloved one that already went to the bathroom. Unforgettable and inimitable! But I don’t want to spoil too much for you. Check this movie out! And only if to see Eva Green and Ewan McGregor getting hot and steamy :)

Oh and just one more thing: Without love there is nothing.

Since Michael and Susan lose their sense of taste they eat soap in the bathtub. It seems like they still find the best in the situation and just have fun with it. But some people eat soap in real life! Check this question on goaskalice. There is really nothing that doesn’t exist…
