There are a few movies that really excited me in the last weeks. One of them was Drive. I really think that Ryan Gosling gets better and better with every movie. I know that it is not a typical Hollywood like thriller and I guess that is the reason why it got totally ignored by the Academy, but it is so well timed, excellent played and surprising!

Don’t get confused by the Trailer! Drive has nothing to do with The Fast and the Furious or The Transporter. It is not only an action Thriller; it is more a very quiet film about a social outsider that found a little hope. And when he is threatened to lose it he tries everything to save it. We don’t know where he came from, what he lived through or why he is the way he is. And it doesn’t matter. The movie starts like a short story. Without any introduction we are right in the events. And still it manages to make you feel sympathetic for the main character. It doesn’t seem to matter that he is not a law obeying citizen and quite brutal in some ways… he is a real modern Hero.
I also loved the music and the whole vibe of the pictures. The movie is kind of timeless. At some points it feels like from a gone by era and then it is so modern and at the right time.
Like you see I’m really enthusiastic and I truly recommend this movie. If you get the chance to see it… DO SO! You will not regret.
